Management and participation bodies

The involvement of the Valencian Innovation System (SVI) agents in the Valencian Innovation Agncy (Agència Valenciana de la Innovació - AVI) is articulated through its bodies:

Boards of Directors

Governing body with representatives from the Generalitat, the universities, the Spanish National Research Council, the network of technology institutes, business organisations and trade unions.
Some of its key functions involve approving grants for innovation projects of a strategic nature.
People integrating the Board of Directors

Valencian Innovation Council (Consejo Valenciano de la Innovación - CVI)

The collegial body that supports and advises the Board of Directors and the Agency’s single-person bodies. Most components of the Innovation System participate and have an active voice in this council.
They come from the three areas: academic or scientific, technological and business, as well as the public administration, as a guarantor of the general interest. In particular, they will contribute with a valuable input for the improvement of the production model..
People integrating the Valencian Innovation Council.

Strategic Innovation Committee (Comité Estratégico de Innovación - CEI)

The higher consultative body of a scientific, technological and business nature supporting the Board of Directors. Its main purpose is to suggest specific action programmes and strategies that contribute to improve the System through an effective mobilisation of the existing capabilities with a greater potential for use.
The 45 members of this Committee are elected by the members of the Valencian Innovation Council, with an even ratio of scientists, technologists and business people. The committee meets once every six months.
People integrating the Strategic Innovation Committee.

The Strategic Committee identifies and monitors the Specialised Strategic Innovation Committees (Comités Estratégicos de Innovación Especializados - CEIE), which must provide individual solutions for each challenge presented by the CEI. Likewise, they will have the technical resources and budgetary support from the AVI for any actions required to suggest solutions to the opportunities presented.

Specialised Strategic Innovation Committees (CEIEs)

These are the specialised groups of the Strategic Committee of Innovation (CEI) accountable for offering a successful response to each of the challenges of the productive fabric with ground breaking technological solutions. For 2019, the Coordinating body of the Strategic Committee of Innovation (CEI) has established two new priority areas, sustainable habitat and emergencies, in addition to health, agri-food, enabling technologies, automotive industry and sustainable mobility and circular economy.
Alongside with working on innovations, the working groups, integrated by scientists, entrepreneurs and technologists, aim to identify those agents of the Valencian Innovation System (SVI) enabled for its development, define necessary actions for its implementation within companies and propose tools and incentives to maximise its impact.
